Practical Aspects of Completing the BSN Program

One of the greatest benefits of earning your registered nurse degree online is the convenience of the virtual classroom. You need not concern yourself with campus matters or difficult computer technology. IWU is your home base for all your work, course information, contact information, discussions, and technical support. With the experience centralized to one site, your focus need only be on earning your registered nurse degree.

To successfully earn your Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, most students commit to at least 12 to 15 hours a week to complete your class work. Creating a study routine is just as important with online education as it is in the traditional environment.

IWU designed the BSN degree program to reiterate what you learn through multiple learning opportunities. You learn through traditional reading and writing assignments and you also learn through discussion by actively engaging with your fellow students. Most importantly, you learn by "doing" through workshops, independent projects, and your work in practicums. All three learning methods used in the BSN degree program are critical because they teach skills used daily in the nursing work environment.

The BSN Practicum Courses

As with any BSN degree program, we require you to demonstrate your proficiency both as a nurse and as a student. Two of your courses require practicums. To learn more about our BSN degree and about setting up practicums, call the IWU admissions department at 888-IWU-2-DAY (888-498-2329) or send an email to info@IWUOnline.com.

Required Computer Skills

IWU's BSN degree program requires only a basic understanding of computer technology. You need to know how to create and type a document, how to post a message to a discussion board, and how to research a subject on the Internet. However, if you ever have trouble, our technical support staff is happy to help you by phone, email, and online.

If you have a question concerning one of your BSN degree courses, your instructor is the best person to turn to. And the best and quickest way to have your technical questions answered is to visit IWU's online support website.

If you don't have the required credits to graduate, you may earn them through IWU's Bridge to Bachelor's Completion program. You can take these courses concurrently with the nursing courses.

Rediscover what you love about nursing while rediscovering your talent for learning. Enroll in IWU's BSN degree program today.
