Application Fee
A one time, non-refundable U.S. $25.00 application fee. In an effort to provide better service to those who desire to use credit cards, the university has installed a secure server which functions to encrypt credit card numbers during transmission. Although the university cannot guarantee the security of the credit card number, the encryption process is the current standard for web financial transactions. IWU accepts credit card transaction via fax, phone, mail, or this online service. The decision is yours to make. We're here to serve you.

Request for Transcripts
An official transcript from the institution that granted your bachelor's degree should be mailed directly from that college to Indiana Wesleyan University. For admission to Indiana Wesleyan University's online graduate programs, it is not necessary to submit transcripts from all institutions attended, only the official transcript from the bachelor degree granting institution. Transcript request forms* have been provided. Please mail (or FAX if allowed by the institution) the completed transcript request form along with the appropriate fee (contact the school for the required amount). Official transcripts must exhibit the official seal and signature of the registrar. Transcripts that are stamped "student copy," "issued to student," or "unofficial" will not be accepted as official.

Recommendation Form
Three professional recommendations are required from persons familiar with your academic ability, work experience, professional nursing contributions, and potential to achieve in graduate school. You must use the forms that are provided in this application packet. Click here to download the Recommendation Form.*

Philosophy Statement
An original philosophy statement is required as part of the application process. Discuss your career and life goals as they relate to the completion of an advanced practice degree. Click here to download the Philosophy Statement Form.*

Place of Citizenship
If not a US citizen, include a copy of your VISA or permanent residency with your application.

RN License
Anyone applying to become a student or faculty member of Indiana Wesleyan University's nursing programs must provide proof that all nursing licenses - whether current or inactive - are unencumbered. Potential students or faculty with encumbered nursing licenses will not be considered eligible for enrollment or employment.

Background Checks: Students shall be prepared for two background checks during the course of the program. The first is performed upon enrollment and a second check is performed prior to the start of practicum experiences. If a criminal history is discovered that may prevent him/her from successfully completing practicum experiences, the student is notified, and suspended.

Professional Practice: Students must have at least one year of professional practice. Students applying for admission to the Nursing Administration or Nursing Education majors must have 1000 hours of direct contact and/or care for patients with the three years prior to admission.

Notice of Non-Discriminatory Policy as to Students:
Indiana Wesleyan University admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Indiana Wesleyan is committed to compliance with the Title IX of the Federal Education amendments of 1972, except as claimed in a filed religious exemption.

Once the application fee, all official transcripts, recommendation forms, philosophy statement, RN license, and citizenship information (if applicable) have been received, your records will be evaluated and you will receive notice of your status from Student Services.
